Make-Ups for Missed ClassesSkaters sign up for a specific session and cannot be accommodated on another session if they must miss a day for any reason unless pre-arranged with a coach.


(formerly Learn to Skate with hockey gear)

CanPowerSkate Pre-Power is designed for young skaters, approximately four to six years of age who can glide forward, have some understanding of how to stop and, can move backward. It is a full gear (hockey or ringette) program aimed at further developing basic skating abilities including balance, stopping, turning and, agility skills in a fun learning environment.

CSA approved gear includes an underneath layer, shoulder pads, shin pads, elbow pads, hockey socks, hockey pants, a jersey, helmet w/cage, hockey gloves, and hockey skates.  Sticks will be introduced later in the session and are available if you don't have one.  NO PUCKS OR RINGS.

Program Fees

  • Fall Session 
    1 time per week - $110.00
    2 times per week - $176.00 ($110 + $110 - 20% = $176)

  • Winter Session
    1 time per week - $110.00
    2 times per week - $176.00 ($110 + $110 - 20% = $176)

If you choose the full year (Fall and Winter Session) or skate twice each session, you will automatically receive a 20% discount.

DEADLINE for additional Winter session discount is November 30, 2018.

Additional Fees 

1. Skate Canada annual membership fee of $36.00
(non-refundable and non-transferable)

  • Membership year - September 1 - August 31 (you will only pay it once during a season, no matter how many sessions you register for). 


When you/your child registers for a skating program at our club, you also become a member of Skate Canada, the national sport governing body for figure skating in Canada. There are many advantages that go with a Skate Canada membership such as accident insurance, access to Skate Canada programs and materials, the opportunity to participate in interclub and invitational competitions and special member prices on merchandise from the on-line store.

Please note that your skater information will be shared with Skate Canada through this website.

This fee does not stay with the club but is sent on to Skate Canada in Ottawa. For more information about Skate Canada, visit

2. Lake Bonavista Community Association annual membership fee of $30.00

  • Membership year - July 1 - June 30


All registrants in any Lake Bonavista Community Association program must have a yearly membership. The LBCA is a privately owned non-profit community centre with membership fees going towards maintaining the facility. Membership also includes access to all programs and to public skating. If you have already paid through another program at the Rec. Centre, you will receive a credit on your account with the LBFSC once we have confirmed with LBCA.
